Rebirthing the Divine: a Journey to Kabalah with Genine BarEl, Wednesday, August 27 7:30 pm Price: $15 members/$18 general public
In an original and powerful performance Genine BarEl takes audiences on a spiritual and emotional journey as she pursues a deeper connection to herself and her heritage. From New York to India to Israel - seeking wisdom but finding a husband (even better!) - Genine finally comes to rest in the holy city of Tsfat, raising a family and birthing herself as a woman and mother, a receptacle for the divine. Through story-telling and song, the audience travels with Genine on a poignant, touching and often humorous passage from Jewish American Princess to “woman of valor.”

WALKING IN GOD'S WAY Art Project and Community Building Day with
Estelle Frankel and Rabbi SaraLeya Schley
Sunday, September 21, 1:30-4:00 pm
Free
Join us for an afternoon of soulful, artistic play as we repair and rebuild
the Mosaic Tile Steppingstones for Chochmat's Garden. These steppingstones,
which are arranged according to the Kabbalistic template of the ten Sephirot,
or divine attributes, are intended as a walking meditation. Each stone will
be tiled in a different hue, corresponding to the spiritual quality of that
Sephirah. This community project, led by Estelle Frankel, will include a teaching
and a healing ceremony, to help our community in its transition. Estelle will
use the kabbalistic cosmology myth of R.Isaac Luria to help us understand the
nature of organizational change and transformation.
There is no charge for this program, but we request that those who plan to attend
please pre-register so that we have some idea of attendance. (This project requires
a minimum of 20 people and is subject to cancellation if we do not have a minimum
of attendees.) You may register by calling the office 510.704.9687.
